India’s first space film, which was supposed to star late actor Sushant Singh Rajput will be revived by Sanjay Puran Singh. He confirmed that the film is “not shelved” and said that it will be a tribute to the late actor. The film which is based on astronomy was announced in 2017 and Sushant Singh Rajput had even visited NASA as a part of the preparation before it was shelved in 2018.
“It will be an ode to Sushant as he was ‘attached to the script’ and gave many inputs too. However it will be difficult to find a replacement for Sushant”, Sanjay Puran Singh said.
However, Sushant’s friend Smita Parikh and his fans were unhappy with the announcement and showed their resentment over it. One of them wrote that the makers were trying to cash in by using his name, while appeals requesting it be ‘stopped at any cost’ were among the other responses.
Sushant Singh Rajput passed away at his residence in Mumbai on June 14. Mumbai Police claimed it to be suicide, and between its examination, his family filed an FIR in Patna accusing Rhea Chakraborty and others of abetting his suicide, distancing him from his family, and embezzlement of his finances.
A number of India’s top investigation agencies like the Enforcement Directorate, Narcotics Control Bureau, and the CBI are still digging deep inside the case.
