RANCHI, DEC 29: Harvard University has invited Hemant Soren for delivering the keynote lecture at the 18th Annual India Conference. The conference is scheduled on Feb 19-21, 2021 in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
He would be speaking on ‘tribal rights, sustainable development and welfare policies’ stated the official twitter handle of the office of chief minister, Jharkhand. The lecture would be held next year on 20th February.
As per NDTV, he would also be delivering on the work done by the state government during pandemic induced lockdown period in Jharkhand.
The letter of invitation mentions the panel of chief minister ‘to discuss the issue of governance, state-center relations, the impressive handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the intersection of how caste and tribal identities inform our current policies.’
Hemant Soren led government did some commendable work to mitigate the plight of their migrant workers during the lockdown period.
The Annual India conference is one of the largest student run conferences in the US hosted jointly by the Harvard Business School and the Harvard Kennedy School. It is a leading forum for dialogue and debate around issues pertaining to contemporary India.
