The infamous death mystery of Actor Jiah Khan before Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case has seen many controversies in the past. The same has been made into a documentary titled ‘Death in Bollywood’ which started airing recently on BBC two. The first episode was aired on Monday. The documentary is a three-part series, to be continued on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The case came to attention again after the SSR case because of the similarities in both the cases showing like action against the celebrity lover, manner of death, Central Bureau of Investigation involvement, and more. The late actor’s mother Rabya Khan was also seen seeking justice for her daughter in London after the SSR case came into being.
Apart from Rabya Khan, Actor Aditya Pancholi’s version of the case has also been recorded in the documentary.
Jiah Khan, aged 25 at the time of her death was allegedly found hanging at her residence in Mumbai on June 3, 2013. She left a suicide note writing about her tense relationship with Actor Sooraj Pancholi. He was arrested by officials soon after his death but was eventually granted bail on July 2, 2013.
The Central Bureau of Investigation then took over the case one year later in June 2014. The mother of the victim kept pointing towards the loopholes in the case calling it to be a murder. She even hired a forensic expert who later disproved that it was a suicide.
As per reports, the CBI earlier this month shared that they would be carrying out a further probe of the suicide case. In response to that, Sooraj Pancholi’s lawyer reportedly sought action against the CBI for ‘contempt of court’ as the matter was still under investigation.
Jiah Khan was known for her work in films like ‘Nishabd’, ‘Ghajini’ and ‘Houseful’.
