Actor Sonu Sood, the national hero of the country has been in the news because of all his social work for a while now. He recently faced a police complaint against him and his wife Sonali by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The local organization accused the actor of converting his six-story Mumbai building into a hotel without permission. It also claimed that he had refused to abide by the orders after he was served a notice in October.
Sonu Sood, however, rejected the accusation and stated that the conversion did not require permission from the municipal body in his plea to the high court.
In an affidavit filed through his advocate D P Singh, it was stated that he had not carried out any ‘illegal or unauthorized’ construction.
“The petitioner (Sood) has not made any changes in the building that warrant permission from the BMC. Only those changes that are allowed under the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning (MRTP) Act have been done”, Singh said.
The property seems to be the same that had made headlines when Sonu Sood offered it for quarantine facilities during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. As per reports, Sonu Sood denied any irregularities and stated that he had the approval for a change of use from the BMC.
Sonu had earlier approached a civil court after getting the notice last week, but he had to shift to the high court after he did not get any relief from the latter.
Known for his role as an antagonist in films, he shared that he would do only positive roles now. He recently signed the film ‘Kisaan’. Sonu is working on many other films already. This includes ‘Prithviraj’ and Telugu films like ‘Acharya’ and ‘Alludu Adhurs’.
